Solvay Solexis offers Algoflon® and Polymist® polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) grades to enhance processing or product performance. Solvay Solexis is the only vertically integrated producer of micronized PTFE products.
Both suspension and dispersion polymerization techniques enable the production of two different classes of Algoflon polymers thereby offering a wide range of grades. Algoflon PTFE offers excellent chemical resistance and unique properties over a wide temperature range from cryogenic to 260°C/500°F. In addition to its chemical and temperature resistance and non-flammability, Algoflon exhibits excellent physical, electrical, and anti-stick properties due to its high molecular weight and molecular structure. Suspension polymers (granular grades) are not available in the U.S.
Both Algoflon L and Polymist micronized powders are used as additives to improve the wear, slip, anti-scuff and/or release properties of thermoplastics, thermosets, rubbers, inks, oils, greases, paints, and coatings.
