Solvay Solexis offers three families of multifunctional perfluoropolyethers for personal care applications.
Creams and lotions: Fomblin® HC Classic and Light unmodified PFPE oils with different molecular weights and viscosity are ingredients of top quality creams and lotions, combining oil and water repellency, skin feel, skin breathability, and safety.
Sunscreens and self-tanners: Fomblin® HC Functional chemically modified PFPEs for additional benefits and new formulating potential (e.g. hydrogels, superfluid emulstions for wet wipes and sprays, multiple emulsions). They are suggested for the preparation of different products such as protective products, water resistant sunscreens, self-tanners with improved stability, non-irritant acidic compositions, make-up products.
Skin protectants, sunscreens, and hair conditioners: Fomblin® HC copolymers are fluorinated polyurethanes (anionic and cationic), available as aqueous dispersions. They can be formulated with conventional procedures to prepare any type of technical forms provided the combined use of anionic and cationic ingredients is minimized. Excellent oil and water repellency is the main property of hydrogels and O/W emulsions containing these materials. The anionic polyurethane is suggested for skin protectants and sunscreens while the cationic polyurethan is suggested for hair conditioners and acidic compositions.
