Tecnoflon® copolymers are based on vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene with fluorine content of 65/66%. The Mooney viscosity ranges from 10 to 75. There are two types of copolymers: ionic cure incorporated and non-cure incorporated (gumstock). The non-cure incorporated copolymer grades can be cured by bisphenol or amines.
Tecnoflon® ionic curable terpolymers are based on vinylidene fluoride, hexafluoropropylene, and tetrafluoroethylene with fluorine content between 68% to 70%. Their Mooney viscosity ranges from 24 to 70. There are two types of terpolymers: cure incorporated and non-cure incorporated (gumstock). The cure incorporated terpolymers are bisphenol curable. The non-cure incorporated terpolymers can be cured by bisphenol or amines.
These copolymers and terpolymers can be processed by conventional rubber process methods and used in a variety of applications such as shaft seals, extrusion profiles, gaskets, and O-rings.
New! Tecnoflon® SEF 9050HS is a fluoroelastomer copolymer produced using the HS proprietary technology.
SEF means Solvay Eco Friendly. Both the novel characteristics of this polymer and the properties of the designed crosslinking system explain the reason for this brand name:
Lowest gas emission in molding
Energy saving in item production
No post cure needed
Outstanding sealing performance
Excellent mold release
Lack of mold fouling
The best sealing performance with short post cure time
This grade of the Solvay Eco Friendly family provides low environmental impact due to the reduced byproduct emission. Furthermore, O-rings and gasket molders can reduce production time and costs by skipping the item post cure in ovens.
Sealing performance of Tecnoflon® SEF 9050HS largely exceeds the limits of standard fluoroelastomer copolymers: it provides longer sealing life at higher temperatures.
