Hyflon® PFA and MFA® are melt processable perfluoropolymers available in different physical forms including:
Powders for electrostatic coating, rotomolding, and rotolining
Aqueous dispersions for coatings and impregnation
Both powders and aqueous dispersion are utilized as coatings to impart several property enhancements to the substrates. In particular, they provide the following improvements:
Chemical and weathering resistance
Surface cleanability
Moisture repellency
Permeation resistance
Dielectric properties
Gloss, smoothness, and surface finish
Hyflon® PFA and MFA® powders are well suited for use as:
Non-stick coatings where outstanding release properties and excellent smooth surface are required along with high purity and chemical inertness
Coatings with superior durability maintaining performance over a wide temperature range
Markets and Applications
Hyflon® dispersions are successfully used in anti-stick coating formulations for cookware and industrial applications and as top layers in the impregnation process of fabrics and cloth (made of glass fibers or other high temperature resistant fibers) with the aim of improving surface finish and gloss, enhancing rub and abrasion resistance, and providing better weldability in case of heat sealing or lamination processes.
Typical markets served by Hyflon® PFA and MFA® resins are:
Chemical Processing
Food Processing
Electrical, Electronics, and Semicon
Typical application of Hyflon® PFA and MFA® powders include:
Release coatings for bakeware, reprographics, and molding
