Halar® ECTFE powder coatings are used as corrosion protection coatings in the chemical process, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, food processing, and semiconductor industries. Halar® is recommended when the part will be used for handling of strong acids and strong bases at elevated temperatures, where other plastics cannot be used, and where corrosion resistant metals would be attacked or become too expensive.
Halar® ECTFE coated ducts provide outstanding chemical resistance and barrier properties. These systems outperform plastic and FRP duct with improved safety and corrosion resistance. The ultra-smooth surface of Halar® coatings reduces or eliminates the build-up of salt deposits and debris that can reduce airflow.
Halar® ECTFE coated stainless steel exhaust duct systems are designed to handle a wide range of corrosive exhaust streams found in a variety of industrial applications, including clean rooms. Approved by FM Global for use in fume and smoke exhaust systems, without sprinklers, Halar® ECTFE coated ductwork combines the toughness of stainless steel with the corrosion resistance of fluoropolymers.
Halar® powder coated proces components (ductwork, reactors, impellers, pipes, fittings, valves, filter housings, and vessels) have been successfully used, in some cases, for many years.
