Algoflon® D grades are polypetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) aqueous dispersions with particle sizes in the range of 0.18 to 0.30 µm. These dispersions are mainly used for metal coatings and impregnation of several substrates.
Algoflon® D dispersions for impregnation are used to confer non-stick properties to fabrics (made of glass fibers, aramidic fibers, PAN, or other high temperature resistant fibers). Improved chemical resistance of the final item is also obtained. In some applications such as Building and Architecture, the high weatherability and anti-stain properties of Algoflon® D dispersions play a key role.
Algoflon® PTFE dispersions are used to impregnate glass or plastic fabrics for producing flexible structures for covering wide areas, such as sports stadiums or structures such as tents.
Hyflon MFA® dispersions can be used for the last passes of the impregnation process to improve the weldability and appearance of the impregnated fabrics.
