Oil field applications include shock tubing, encapsulated injection tubing, coated rod, and coated control cables. The tough, resistant Halar® ECTFE fluoropolymer coating extends the life of many down-hole components in harsh well environments. Down-hole cables are also constructed of Solef® PVDF, Halar® ECTFE and Hyflon MFA®.
Algoflon® PTFE has outstanding chemical inertness in aggressive environments, thermal resistance, electrical properties, and non-stick characteristics in a wide range of temperatures from cryogenic to 260º C. This makes Algoflon® PTFE the ideal material for many critical applications. In particular, Algoflon® DF powders are currently used for the production of pipe and tubing, obtained by paste extrusion, with the excellent performance required by this market.
